  • Abstract
    A design technique of NRD guide ring resonator is developed based on the mode coupling theory. Besides the operating mode, the parasitic mode is generated at curved sections of the resonator as a result of the mode conversion. A design expression for the circular ring resonator is derived by using those coupling. Moreover, a new type of ring resonator shaped like a racetrack is proposed to improve the resonant performance, and is applied to the low loss channel dropping filter at 50 GHz
