Abstract :
The authors present a testbed for design, validation and execution of AIN services under development at CSELT. The architecture of the testbed is described. It is composed of two main parts: one is a design environment, where design and logical validation take place. The other part is a hardware/software system closely emulating a real IN structure where the service can be directly experimented on along with service management functions. The main technical features of the testbed discussed in this paper are: an approach to validation; a logic programming based concurrency model and nondeterministic backtrackable simulator; animation of network scenarios; a service logic execution environment designed on the basis of IN functional architecture defined in CCITT draft recommendation Q1214; standard basic call state model based call control, implemented in a service switching point emulator. The authors report on preliminary results and the planned evolution of the testbed
