Abstract
Carotenoids represent one of the most widely distributed and structurally diverse classes of natural pigments in plants, microorganisms and animal, performing important functions in protection from oxidative damage, significant dietary antioxidants, inhibition of carcinogenesis, enhancement of the immune response and prevention of cardiovascular disease. Marine contains abundant biological resources and has great potential to be explored for the carotenoid resource. In this paper we isolated and performed the polyphasic and biosynthetic genes investigation for the isolated marine bacteria strains during the bacterial diversity investigation explored for East China Sea aera performed in Nov, 2009.
