  • Abstract
Describes the mapping of the GSM12.20 managed object templates into an entity-relationship datamodel as it is used in a commercial relational database system. From the resulting entity-relationship model, a logical design is derived for a relational database system, that forms the basis of its data dictionary. This mapping is currently used to construct a compiler that is able to translate specifications of managed object classes written in ASN.1 according to the templates of GSM12.20 into SQL DML (Data Manipulation Language) statements, that fill above mentioned data dictionary tables with descriptions of the managed object classes that are to be represented in the relational database system. The contents of the data dictionary will then be used in a semi-automatic process to construct the actual database model of the managed object instances
