Abstract :
Phalaenopsis is a monopodial orchid which is difficult to propagate vegetatively. The characteristics of seedlings are not uniform, and propagation through tissue culture has been desired. This paper compared the effects of NAA, 6-BA and sucrose on callus induction of P. firedance “SFIL” f006 (1294). The results are as follows:(1)Root segment shows the highest induction rate, 20%, on MS medium supplemented with NAA 0.1 mg/L, 6-BA 0.3 mg/L, and sucrose 10 g/L;(2)Leaf segment is not suitable for callus induction.
