Abstract :
In this study, a q-axis inductance compensation method is studied to improve the stability of the PMSM rotor angle sensorless control system using the induced voltage. By a theoretical study, the rotor angle estimation error, which sometimes results in an unstable phenomenon, is caused by the error of the q-axis inductance due to flux saturation. A compensation method using the voltage is studied theoretically to reveal the effectiveness and to obtain the reference for designing the set value of q-axis inductance in the controller. The method is also verified experimentally both in lower and higher speed range.
