  • Abstract
    We demonstrate simultaneous delivery of four independent digital broadcast television services over a WDM passive optical network (PON) by spectrally slicing Er-doped fibre amplifier (EDFA) amplified LEDs. The composite bandwidth of 2 GHz carries more than 320 channels of digital television, and is delivered independently of private point-to-point services which are possible over the WDM PON architecture. We compare the WGR as a broadcast distribution element to a passive splitter
