Abstract
In this presentation, we describe the overall philosophy and implementation of combined digital/RF design. The authors present three examples of designs that have been implemented in this fashion. A fourth design is proposed that combines components from each of the first three. The three design aspects that are explored are the computational preconditioning of baseband components, the incorporation of feedback to the digital system of the RF performance in real-time, and the digital switching of RF elements to adapt operating limits.
