Abstract
The urbanization is irreversible developing trend of human society; Urban Agglomeration is the product that urbanization developed to a certain stage. The current research of Urban Agglomeration has obtained abundant achievements, but the study from a purely theoretical model to practical application is very few. This paper makes Urban Agglomeration evolution as a whole, design only one index for its driving force, namely Urban Sustainable Development Ability (USDA). The index is integrated performance of complex interaction between nature and society, etc. The study took the USDA for evolutionary energy which drives the development of Urban Agglomeration, designed the USDA simulation model USDA-CA based on the Cellular Automata (CA), constructed a theoretical digital Evolutionary Model of Urban Agglomeration by Matlab. Meanwhile, the paper preliminarily verified the model´s feasibility and extension through the case study in Beijing.
