Abstract
The water system of Fen River in Shanxi province has upstream, midstream and downstream three sections, which are separately located in Jingyou, Jiexiu, Xiaodian, Hongtong, Linfen and Hejin, six sampling points are disposed there for the sake of collecting the samples of the filtered water and suspended matter, and measuring heavy metal contents. The measurement results show that heavy metal exist mainly in the form of water soluble state, the contents of heavy metal such as Cd, As, Pb, Cu, Zn in Fen River upper and middle steam proved to be lower, which accords with national certificated standard for water of class 1, but the contents of heavy metal in downstream rise, which results water being low quality.
