Abstract
In a recent authors´ work, a so-called numerical hybrid state model has been introduced. In the present paper, the proposed model is extended for analysis of partial load rejection tests. Time-variant analytical waveforms of phase voltages and the field current following load rejection tests are derived in terms of physical machine parameters using the state model solution of linear system theory. Two load rejection tests (50% and 100%) are performed and comparisons are made between simulation results and actual data obtained from a 4-pole, 1.5-kVA, 208-V, and 60-Hz laboratory machine
