Abstract
While individual design tools are getting better and better, comprehensive design automation system progress is hampered by the fact that engineers have been slow in formalizing the design process. If CAD designers are to build optimal comprehensive design automation systems, those of us who are to use those systems must rigorously define what our design process is.
