Abstract
Linear and nonlinear distortions that manifested along the wireless transmitter scheme are of great importance since they influence the communication link performance. This paper proposes a comprehensive study of these distortions through the investigation of their sources and the means to characterize them for pre-correction purposes. Both long term and short term linear distortion are concerned in this paper. Measurement results conducted on typical 100Watt wireless UMTS transmitter point out the benefit of a concurrent pre-compensation for both linear and nonlinear distortion effects using digital baseband predistortion technique
