  • Abstract
    In this paper we consider the use of an array of antennas to enhance reception of multiple signals in a multipath-fading, asynchronous environment. A CDMA system is assumed where the users are not jointly synchronized. An adaptive array is used to provide spatial selectivity between users while combining desired-user energy from different propagation paths. Adaptation is based on a decision feedback equalizer approach, so that neither reference signals nor array calibration is required for operation. Performance of this receiver is analyzed and simulations presented to validate the analysis.
