Abstract :
TCP is primarily designed for wired networks and became very efficient and robust with years of enhancements. However, experiments and research showed that TCPpsilas congestion control algorithm performs very poorly over Wireless Sensor Networks with degraded throughputs. This paper studies TCPpsilas throughput issues in Wireless Sensor Networks, and designs an improved congestion control algorithm based on the characteristics of the Wireless Sensor Networks. The protocol is designed as improvement to DCCP(Datagram Congestion Control Protocol) with a new congestion control component. We also implemented this congestion control algorithm in NS2. Our simulation results demonstrate that the improved DCCP techniques are highly throughput in dealing with data transfer process.
