Abstract :
This paper presents the software infrastructure design for a virtual environment testbed that provides vibrotactile feedback. The process involved identifying system requirements and constraints from an experimental design, the selection of system components, and the development of software modules. The infrastructure interfaces with hardware input and output devices, produces sound and three-dimensional graphics, models interactions between the user and virtual objects, and records user performance during experimental sessions
