Abstract
The paper describes the design and implementation of a gateway that maps interactions between management applications developed using RPC/IDL to agents developed using CMIP/GDMO. In order to match both technologies, several mechanisms are necessary, and we show how to combine them in a coherent module, which can have most of these components generated by automated tools. Particularly, we demonstrate its use in a study for the integration of distributed management applications, developed over the OSF/DCE distribution platform, accessing management information on OSI managed objects, through the HP OpenView management platform
