Well chosen words: Working outside ofthe documentation box - Another way [tutorial on technical writing]

Some technical communicators find themselves looking for work outside of the technical documentation box. Some are looking because the field is changing or work is actually disappearing; some because they are newly arrived in the field; and others because they seek new challenges. The "Encouraging Exercise" Checklistc presented provides an inventory for identifying the accumulated skills, aptitude, and experience of technical communicators that are potentially pertinent to new work.
