Abstract :
Dedicated Channel Access Method (DCAM) Protocol is a Medium Access Control (MAC) protocol developed to provide the technomads continuous access to the Internet and data. The protocol relies on a centralized system for providing channel access to the mobile users and then access to Internet or to the network. The protocol works by providing the users a dedicated channel based on the First in First Get (FIFG) scheme. The geographical area is divided based on the number of basestations used and all the channels are repeated in every basestation, providing reusability of the channels. This paper describes the protocol´s concept and working, network architecture, and also discusses protocol´s application areas.
