Abstract :
The article describes a minimal and modular TINA-compliant DPE Kernel architecture which allows the construction and configuration of DPE instances tailored to the specific needs of their environment and which provides the necessary handles for the execution of real time applications with end-to-end QoS constraints. The proposed architecture features a flexible binding framework allowing the introduction of arbitrary forms of binding beyond the implicit binding model assumed by CORBA. In particular, the framework described here allows the explicit establishment and control of QoS constrained bindings such as multi party stream bindings between multimedia stream interfaces.
