Abstract
Some methods of the Cooper Union 1989 National Survey of Women Engineers are presented. This survey, with 2077 respondents (a 52% survey return), included the demographics of the working woman engineer, a career profile, gender issues in the work place (including job satisfaction), a personal profile, and marriage and family issues. The Cooper Union survey was used by permission on graduates of the Graduate Career Change Program (GCCP) in Industrial Engineering at Arizona State University (ASU). A comparison of these career change women engineers surveyed by Cooper Union was performed. Both the national survey and the career change women engineers reported a high level of satisfaction in their engineering careers
