  • Abstract
    Because of low transmission speed and difficult networking of serial ports, a data mutual conversion system between serial port and Ethernet based on W5100 and MCV C8051F120 is proposed. RS232 and RS422 interface chips are used to receive and transmit low-speed serial port data, and MCV C8051F120 is used as the core processing chip, and W5100 chip is used to receive and transmit Ethernet data. A specific hardware circuit is designed, and C language is used to finish the program of MCV. Because W5100 integrates TCP/IP protocol, MCV doesn´t need to write complex TCP/IP protocol program. This conversion system can allow traditional equipment to access Ethernet, and the purpose of remote monitoring can be implemented. The experiment result shows that this system can implement data mutual conversion between serial port and Ethernet, and has characteristics of simplicity, reliability, high transmission efficiency, high stability, low cost, and has higher practicability and is worth to be propagated.
