  • Abstract
    The high frequency characteristics of common mode (CM) inductors will affect their performance of conducted EMI suppression. This paper proposes a general procedure to construct a high frequency model of common mode inductors based on measurements in the frequency range from 9 kHz to 30 MHz. As an example, a lumped parameter high frequency model is given, in which CM inductance, leakage inductance, parasitic capacitance in winding and between windings, and ferrite resistance, etc, are described and determined based on measurements. Simulation demonstrates the model.
