Abstract :
The ECSEL Coalition consisting of City College of New York, Howard University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Morgan State University, Pennsylvania State University, the University of Maryland and the University of Washington, is briefly described. The goal of the Coalition is to significantly increase the numbers of women and underrepresented minorities in engineering and to dramatically increase the effectiveness of undergraduate engineering education, fostering a curriculum renewal that prepares students for life-long productive careers
