Abstract
A workshop is discussed which presents a circular structure that includes an engineering design core from the first to fourth years of an engineering program of study. This set of four courses builds basic understanding of the engineering design process, develops increasingly mature design skills, and couples social issues and communications with design. Participants learn the structure and methods of instruction used in the curriculum through team exercises which model classroom activities with graduated levels of maturity associated with each of the four courses
