Abstract
An adaptive scheme for parallel line protection is described in this paper. This scheme uses line operation status prepared based on the field data, to adjust its zone limits in a way to achieve maximum coverage and mal-operation free behaviour. When the status signals are not available a worst case zone characteristic is used. The performance of the scheme has been tested using a simulated network and the results are presented.
