Abstract :
This paper shows how to reduce the harmonic input AC currents and consequently to improve the power factor by controlling the switching frequency of the inverter. An analytical procedure for power factor optimization is presented and the operation modes of the proposed unity power factor parallel resonant converter (UPFPRC) are described. Simple analytical design equations are derived and the influence or the different circuit parameters is investigated
