  • Abstract
Topology control in wireless sensor networks has been well studied, and a huge amount of algorithms for topology construction have been proposed. Among those algorithms, only a few methods take interference into account. In this paper, with minimizing energy consumption and communication interference in mind, we present a Minimum Spanning Tree (MST) based algorithm, which has following properties: (1) only localized information is needed for topology construction; (2) both energy consumption and interference are minimized simultaneously; (3) connectivity of the network is almost preserved. We also show by simulation that the above design goals are all fulfilled.
