Abstract
The current work forms part of a thorough theoretical and practical investigation of circular grating CG-DFB laser designs using thin polymer films as the active material on a silicate substrate. CG-DFBs constructed from MEH-PPV thin films having emission spectra peaks at approximately 630 nm have been analysed to obtain near-field and far-field radiation patterns for their lasing modes. It is also seen how multisection designs can be used to give more favourable emission characteristics.
