Abstract :
In the present study, we investigated the perceptual characteristics of approaching target in periphery experimental results indicated that the motion in depth can be discriminated, and the discrimination performance falling the periphery visual field. In addition, we found that the performance was remarkably dropped down when the target toward the middle of two eyes in binocular case; while, it could be clearly detected in monocular case. These results individual changing disparity is out of function in the peripheral visual field. From the poor performance to the approaching periphery, we infer that the visual system maybe processes the vector sum of retinal motion of both eyes.
