Abstract :
The paper proposes an environment for operating and managing the service-type repositories advocated by TINA-C, ISO-ODP, and OMG. The environment enables users of telecommunication services and network management services to easily find the servers that provide services they want to use. It also provides a mechanism that ensures the response time of operations performed by distributed service type repositories. Moreover, service type data replication and repository failure recovery are processed automatically. A prototype implementing IE-STREM has already been developed on a CORBA compliant product and its performance is satisfactory
