Abstract :
SAR imaging applications are usually carried out by two ways: by physical/mathematics models and by the measured terrain material microwave signatures. In most of the cases, people like to use the mathematics models since the microwave signature databases do not match the practical case very well. In this paper, the authors discuss the reason for the uncertainties provided by these databases from the instrument point of view and propose a new ground-based scatterometer, SARSCAT, specially designed for SAR applications
