Abstract
The Merging Unit following IEC60044-8 and IEC61850-9-1 is the important part of the Electronic Current/Voltage Transformer, and is firstly defined in IEC60044-8. The Merging Unit includes three parts: synchronization function module, receiving and processing the multi-channel data function module and communication function module. In this paper, Based on a brief analysis of the function of the Merging Unit, a novel method using ARM-based controller is proposed to implement the main functions of the Merging Unit.
