Abstract :
This paper proposes to simulate the characteristics of wind turbine by PMSM (permanent magnet synchronous motor). On the aspects of wind turbine power-speed curve and torque-speed curve as well as PMSM open-loop and closed-loop control, the characteristics of wind turbine and PMSM are compared and analyzed. PMSM can simulate part of characteristics of wind turbine by open-loop frequency control, and can simulate entire characteristics of wind turbine by closed-loop vector control. Emulation of PMSM closed-loop control is implemented to simulate steady-state and dynamic characteristics of wind turbine. The steady-state result and dynamic process are highly consistent with theoretical curve, indicating that PMSM is an excellent method for simulating characteristics of wind turbine.
