Abstract :
This paper demonstrates diode-pumped passive Q-switched mode operation at 1.42-1.44 μm wavelength for the 4F32/→4I132/ transition in garnet crystals co-doped by Nd3+and Cr4+ ions. A comparison of generation near 1.4 μm utilizing the 4F32/→4I132/ transition in Nd3+:YAG, Nd3+:Cr4+:YAG, Nd3+:Cr3+:GSGG, Nd3+:Cr3+:GSAG, Nd3+:Cr3+:YSGG, and Nd:Cr4+:YSGG garnet crystals is presented.
