Abstract :
Landscape pattern has been one of the key study areas in landscape ecology. Many cities problems have been caused by disorderly and unreasonable landscape pattern, so orderly and good urban landscape pattern play an important role in city sustainable development, but at present urban landscape pattern in many cities has been destroyed, hence studying the rule of urban landscape pattern dynamics and protecting reasonably is becoming more and more important. By using GIS and RS (remote sensing) techniques, how human activities have changed Kaifeng city landscape pattern from 1988 to 2002 was discussed. The results showed as follows: (1) the number of the patches increased dramatically compared to 1988, the number increased from 28784 to 32311, disturbed by economy development and human activities, the whole landscape shape turned irregular and the landscape fragment degree increased form 0.6463 to 0.7255. (2) The low-density construction increased evidently form 6509.71hm2 of 1988 to 9251.07hm2 of 2002, owning to rapid increase of county residential area. High-density construction increased form 1540.26hm2 to 2601.54hm2 in the recent 15 years as a result of city development. Orchard area and non-used land had decreased greatly, respectively from 1454.67hm2, 2500.56hm2 to 623.83hm2 and 1104.84hm2. (3) The spatial position center of high-density construction area was shifted to southwest and water area to southeast. (4) Human activity had important influence on the urban landscape; grassland and water area increased greatly, so it resulted in good impacts on the environment, but it is serious that the farmland was occupied by construction.
