Abstract :
Operating at high frequencies in power converter is often limited by the reverse recovery behaviour of the power switching device used. The use of "carrier-lifetime-killing" techniques can improve this but increases the steady state losses and the leakage current. The proposed technique for reducing the reverse-recovery charge provides a solution to this, and allows lower on-state losses and lower reverse-recovery charge concurrently.
