Abstract :
This paper addresses the problem of communicating over a confined area that is characterized by multipath-fading as wireless indoor communication. To combat the effects of multipath-fading, we propose a new adaptive phased array antenna which is based on a non-linear method. An “on-off” adaptive algorithm to adjust a phase angle is developed and applied to an antenna system in order to control automatically its directivity pattern to enhance the received signal. A prototype of the antenna system (20 GHz linear array) has been built and tested; and the measured results of antenna patterns are presented to illustrate the performance of the method
