Abstract :
This paper introduces a new ternary code called ´2-Binary 2-Ternary RZ/NRZ´, or 2B2T-RN for short with advantageous features for ternary communication links. The code exhibits both NRZ and RZ properties, and the encoding/decoding process only requires a look-up table software/hardware implementation. Simulation results show the code eliminates DC balance issues and has strong clock recovery component without totally depending on memory states as other bipolar codes..
