  • Abstract
An upper-bound error for the bimodal optical computer is found. The upper-bound error is studied as a function of the error in the matrix A, the vectors b and x, and the condition number of A. The upper-bound error is compared with the actual error in the solution. Both the upper-bound error and the actual error increase as the error in A, b, or x increases, and the upper-bound error and the actual error increase almost linearly as the condition number of A increases
