Abstract
An upper-bound error for the bimodal optical computer is found. The upper-bound error is studied as a function of the error in the matrix A , the vectors b and x , and the condition number of A . The upper-bound error is compared with the actual error in the solution. Both the upper-bound error and the actual error increase as the error in A , b , or x increases, and the upper-bound error and the actual error increase almost linearly as the condition number of A increases
