Abstract
The catalytic oxidation of Acid Red 18 was investigated, with hydrogen peroxide as oxidant and Fe2O3/ZSM-5 as catalysts respectively. Effects of pH, salinity and anions on the catalyst activity were studied. And the lifespan of catalyst was preliminarily investigated. The result shows that catalytic activity is better in acid and alkaline environments (colour removal almost more than 95%) and lower in neutral environment (colour removal less than 50%); the reaction of H2O2 oxidizing Acid Red 18 obeys the zero order law in acidic environment and first order in alkaline environment; high concentration of NaCl inhibits the rate of dye decoloration and prolongs reaction time as well as decreases the final degradation; the influence of anion on reaction is not obvious; The lifespan of simply cleaned catalyst declines obviously with the recycle times increasing.
