Abstract :
The paper gives a comprehensive overview of the kernel K/2R for an ESF factory support environment developed at the University of Dortmund. It presents the ESF integration concepts and highlights the architecture of the factory support environment. A detailed discussion of the interworking, interaction, interoperation, and interconnection support mechanisms constitutes its second part. The paper concludes with a brief look at the current status of the implementation and outlines the remaining work
