Abstract
In this paper, we consider the medium access control (MAC) protocol in vehicle-to-roadside (V2R) communication system to support real-time services. We propose two scheduling algorithms, namely, request collision queue and data transmission queue scheduling in order to reduce request collision probability and efficiently prioritize real-time data messages, respectively. We evaluate the performance of the proposed schemes in terms of packet loss and delay time under high generated packet rate. The experiment results show that our protocol can perform lower packet loss 2.5 times and delay time 1.5 times than TDMA channel access protocol in high traffic load conditions.
