Abstract
In this paper, we explore the role of surface plasmons modes in top-emitting OLEDs. For display applications active matrix driven pixels are required and an attractive way of doing this is to make them top-emitting, i.e. for the emission to take place through the cathode. This approach has recently been demonstrated by other groups, showing that it may offer an efficient way to generate light.
