Abstract
Practical aspects of implementing a self-organising fuzzy controller (SOC) on an industrial application are discussed. Ease of operation as well as safety and reliability are key issues in industrial control and emphasis is concentrated on these features. The particular application in question was pH control of an ammonia scrubber in a fertiliser plant and specific features and problems of this process are studied in more detail
