  • Abstract
    Describes a personal computer system installed on a power wheelchair. The system was developed by the author to meet the computing needs of his adolescent son who has severe cerebral palsy. The computer system consists of the following components: power module, Apple IIc computer, portable DECtalk text-to-speech system, audio power amplifier with speaker, and miniaturized keyboard, printer, and small television used a monitor; the last three are mounted on the laptray directly in front of the user. Each of these components was either built from scratch or significantly modified for this application
