Abstract
The authors report on the interrelationships of organizational environments, information technology development processes and information technology applications. B. Ives et al.´s research framework (see Manage. Sci., vol.26, no.9, Sept. 1980) is used to guide the investigation of three large and innovative Chinese firms. Results suggest that with moderate modification, their model can be used to direct future research in the information system field
