Abstract
In this work, we investigate a non-uniform sampling technique and its application to the front end design of wideband radio equipment. It is the belief of the authors that randomized sampling holds great promise in the design of such flexible radio equipment known as software radio. Sample rate conversion and channel selection are the key functions in software radio design. We propose to realize these functions with a new structure of the digital front end based on random under-sampling techniques and using a time invariant CIC filter
