Abstract
It is difficult to improve power capacity and switch frequency of the conventional switching power system because of so many drawbacks resulting from the hard switching state of power switches such as the losses and the diode reverse recovery problem and so on. In this paper, a novel ZVZCS (Zero Voltage Zero Current Switching) PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) Buck converter is proposed. A detailed analysis of the operation principle and MATLAB 7.0 simulation results show that both the main switch and the main diode are turned on and off under ZVZCS simultaneously, the auxiliary switch is turned on and off under Zero Current Switching (ZCS), and the soft chopper is suitable for application working in high frequency and high power situation.
