Abstract :
Photorefractive spatial solitons have been source of many studies during the last decade. In particular, the Sr1-xBaxNb2O6 crystal have been the object of a special interest in the formation of spatial solitons because of its potential to photorefractive self-focusing. This paper deals about an experimental study on a bulk SBN crystal as a function of time and evidence the transition from self-focusing to branching. The results allowed a new apparatus using this SBN crystal devoted to optical limiting.
